Legal - Privacy policy

How your data is processed on this website – transparent and easy to understand.

Protecting your personal data is particularly important to me – not least because confidentiality is the foundation of all psychotherapeutic work. I therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, Austrian Data Protection Act). This policy informs you about which data is processed when you visit this website.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website, Netlify processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, browser type) in order to deliver the website and ensure the security of its operation (legal basis: legitimate interest pursuant to Art 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement pursuant to Art 28 GDPR has been concluded with Netlify; any transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Contact form

If you write to me via the contact form, the data you provide (name, email address, optional phone number, message) is processed exclusively for the purpose of handling your enquiry (legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art 6(1)(a) GDPR and pre-contractual measures pursuant to Art 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your data is not passed on to third parties and is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for processing your enquiry and no statutory retention obligations apply.

For sending form messages I use the service Mailjet, part of the Sinch group (Mailjet SAS, 4 rue Jules Lefebvre, 75009 Paris, France). Processing takes place on servers within the European Union; a data processing agreement pursuant to Art 28 GDPR is in place with Mailjet.

Please note: only submit the information necessary for an appointment enquiry via the contact form. Sensitive details of your concerns are better discussed in person.

Audience measurement with Fathom Analytics

To understand how this website is used (e.g. which pages are visited), I use Fathom Analytics (Conva Ventures Inc., British Columbia, Canada). Fathom was deliberately chosen as a privacy-friendly alternative to conventional analytics services: it sets no cookies, performs no cross-site tracking and creates no personal profiles. Your IP address is not stored; all statistics are anonymous and aggregated. For visitors from the EU, Fathom processes data via its EU isolation infrastructure on servers within the European Union (legal basis: legitimate interest in the anonymous analysis of website usage pursuant to Art 6(1)(f) GDPR). As no personal data is stored, no consent is required for this. More information can be found in Fathom's privacy policy and at usefathom.com/compliance.

Cookies and consent

This website uses no cookies for tracking or advertising purposes – the audience measurement described above also works without cookies. Your selection in the consent banner (e.g. whether external maps may be loaded) is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to me or to third parties. You can change your selection at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

Google Maps (directions)

On the contact page I offer a map by Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is only loaded once you actively consent – either via the consent banner or by clicking "Load map" (legal basis: your consent pursuant to Art 6(1)(a) GDPR). Only then is data (including your IP address) transferred to Google; this may also involve a transfer to the USA. Without your consent, no data is transferred to Google – the address is also available as text on the contact page. More information can be found in Google's privacy policy.

Your rights

You generally have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with me (praxis@fabianladstaetter.at) or with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).

Duty of confidentiality

Independently of data protection law, as a psychotherapist in training under supervision I am bound by the strict statutory duty of confidentiality pursuant to § 45 of the Austrian Psychotherapy Act 2024. All contents of therapeutic conversations are covered by this duty and will not be disclosed to anyone without your express release.
